Wormeries divert food waste away from the bin (and landfill) and turn your cooked and uncooked food waste into something useful - a fantastic worm compost (referred to by the experts as 'Black Gold') which you can plant in or just dig into the garden and a nutritious liquid plant feed which you can use to feed your plants (indoors or out), flowers, vegetable patch or lawn.
As the UK's first and therefore longest established Wormery manufacturer, our Wormeries are independently highly acclaimed, have been the stars of numerous television and magazine appearances and have seen sales in the hundreds of thousands! We invented the first commercial, domestic Wormery nearly 20 years ago, before anyone else. We even coined (and trademarked) the very word 'Wormery'.

There are no hidden extras required with any of our Wormeries. We supply all our Wormeries with a supply of effective Tiger Worms (Eisenia Fetida) for an efficient and trouble-free startup as well as a supply of Anti-Acid Lime Mix which you can add to the contents every now and then to encourage the best possible conditions for the worms (Eggshells do this too!). All the Wormeries also include comprehensive, easy to understand instructions full of hints, tips and helpful advice. Of course, if you do encounter any problems, we're just a freephone telephone call away!

The Classic Range
These self-contained Wormeries all feature a unique internal drainage system which captures the liquid feed and creates a 'sump' towards the bottom of the chamber. The compost fills the top chamber and it works well - because the worms are 'surface-feeders', so they'll always work there way up as you fill the bin - leaving their worm compost behind!

The Worm Works Multi-Tray System
Being the Wormery inventors, we naturally searched long and hard for a multi-tray worm composter we were willing to put our name (and longstanding reputation) to! Since January 2008 we have been the exclusive and sole distributor for The Worm Works in Great Britain. Sales of this exceptional quality stacking-tray-system get stronger every month!
Multi-Tray Wormeries have the benefit of easy access to the compost. Once the top tray is full, the bottom should contain ready to harvest compost - so it's really simple to operate and you don't need to get your hands dirty!

What is a Wormery?
A Wormery is an easy, efficient system of converting ordinary kitchen food waste into liquid feed and rich organic compost through the natural action of worms.
How does it work?
The Wormery is divided up into a number of chambers. In one of these live the Tiger Worms (it's OK, you don't have to touch them - you probably won't even see much of them). All you do is drop your daily kitchen waste into the bin and forget it. The worms feed on the food waste and convert it into concentrated liquid feed and Bio-rich organic compost.
What can I put in?
Wormeries will accept your ordinary kitchen waste such as peelings, cooked and uncooked scraps, tea bags, eggshells, paper kitchen towels, even shredded newspaper etc. In fact virtually any organic kitchen waste can go into a Wormery.
What do I get out?
From your Wormery, you will get a strong, nutrient rich liquid feed, which you dilute with water prior to use as an excellent plant food for house plants, garden flowers, shrubs, vegetables or as a lawn feed. Also, a rich organic compost known to keen gardeners as "Black Gold".
Why Worms?
Nature has provided us with the perfect waste disposal unit in the worm, and Tiger Worms are simply the most efficient at dealing with organic waste. They live their whole lives in the dark, moist atmosphere of the Wormery; eating the waste material you put in and converting it into liquid feed and compost. The worms are native to the UK and occur naturally outdoors wherever there is organic waste such as an old compost heap. Does it smell?
No. Well designed Wormeries (like ours) should not smell at all. As the waste material you put in starts to decompose in the Wormery, it is consumed by the worms thereby effectively eliminating the possibility of odor. The rubberised compression seal around our Wormeries also helps to minimise any risk of odor as the food starts to break down.
