Alocasia Zebrina Elephant Ear 17cm Pot Indoor House Plant

The Alocasia Zebrina, commonly known as the Elephant Ear, is a tropical beauty distinguished by its unique zebra-striped stems. To ensure your Alocasia Zebrina remains vibrant and flourishing, consider the following care guidelines:

Light: This plant thrives in bright, indirect light. While it can adapt to lower light conditions, its growth may slow and leaf production might decrease. Direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent leaf scorching.

Water: Maintain evenly moist soil without allowing it to become waterlogged. Thoroughly water the plant when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely between waterings, and be cautious of overwatering to prevent root rot.

Humidity: Alocasia Zebrina has a high humidity requirement. Enhance humidity levels by using a humidifier near the plant, placing a water-filled tray nearby, or misting the leaves regularly.

Temperature: This plant favors a warm environment, ideally between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Protect it from drafts and cold windows to maintain its health.

Variable Heights: Plant heights may fluctuate by approximately +/- 10%, ensuring each specimen is unique.

Fertilizer: During the growing season, which spans spring and summer, feed the plant monthly with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Refrain from fertilizing in the dormant months of fall and winter.

Pruning: Trim the plant to manage its size and shape or to eliminate any damaged or yellowing leaves. This practice also encourages new growth.

Pests: Alocasia Zebrina is susceptible to spider mites, mealybugs, and scale insects. Regularly inspect the plant and swiftly address any pest issues using suitable insecticides.
