There are many good reasons to install a water butt, particularly if you’re looking to save money on your water bills if your home is run by a water meter. Filling your buckets and watering cans with naturally-collected rainwater also means that you will avoid the use of chlorinated tap water, which can be toxic to plants. The water collected will also come in handy in the event of a drought or UK hosepipe ban.
Our water butts are available in a variety of styles, from subtle designs that will blend into your garden, to more decorative options for jazzing up your outdoor space. We also stock a range of sizes that can hold anything from 50 to 1,600 litres, as well as different water butt accessories, including stands and rainwater diverters. Whatever water butt you’re looking for, you’re sure to find it here at Original Organics.
How does a water butt work?
Water butts are simple to use. Once you’ve picked one, all you need to do is place it under any drainpipe that leads off the roof of your home so rainwater can be collected in the water butt. While some containers come with a tap, like our 800L Vertical Slim Line Rainwater Tank in Green, you can also add your own water butt tap or pump. This makes it easier to access the water you collect when you need to give your lawn a drink.
