Handcrafted in the UK using sturdy FSC-certified timber, the Blackbird Nester features a deep open ledge and an apex roof - a perfect shelter for blackbirds seeking to build their nest. The nester should be hung at least 1.5m high from its brass hook, preferably hidden in foliage to protect from predators and sheltered from the wind. In addition to blackbirds, the open-fronted nest box may also attract robins, dunnocks, and wagtails.

Leave the nest box empty initially as blackbirds prefer to bring in their own nesting materials. To ensure longevity, our handmade habitats, including the Blackbird Nester, are crafted using slow-seasoned FSC-certified timber without the need for chemical preservatives. To maintain the nest, wait until September to ensure it is vacated before cleaning. Blackbirds have a long breeding season and may produce multiple broods. Our construction techniques, including robust screw and jointed connections, ensure durability and longevity.
